I'm talking about it in the context of guitar, but it can be used just as well with almost any instrument.įirst, I'm going to start with a negative definition. If you listen to almost any song on the radio in the past 20 years I bet there would probably be some sort of double tracking going on. Double Tracking is a recording and mixing technique that I believe is one of the most widely used and foundational techniques used.
